Minor Bay Lodge – Our First Fishing Trip of the Season

by Randy Duvell June 18, 2017

Minor Bay Lodge’s first fishing trip of the season is now behind use as our first group of guests have come and gone from Wollaston Lake’s Minor Bay Lodge.  Our weather was unsettled with temperatures below normal with the first day bringing cold temperatures and storm fronts moving through all day.  The second, third and fourth days were a mix of sun and cloud with a few rain showers thrown in for good measure with pleasant temperatures that reached the high 60’s F.

There were some great fish caught and released by our guests on this trip.  Our top 10 pike were 2 x 48″, 3 x 47″ and 5 x 46″.  Plus there were some great walleye caught and released at our flyout lakes – Bird and Cairns with the largest walleye of the trip a fat 29-incher.  The lake trout fishing was also good, although no huge lakers were landed by guests.
