About Us
About your hosts at Minor Bay Lodge, Bev and Randy Duvell. Here is a brief introduction of your hosts at Minor Bay Lodge.
With the coming of the 2021 season, I will be celebrating 35 years in the lodge business. My start in the business was in 1986, being employed as the on-site lodge manager for the Receiver/Manager of God’s Country Lodge, located on Elk Island in God’s Lake, Manitoba.
From 1986 through 1994, I was on-site manager for several remote, fly-in fishing and hunting lodges in Manitoba. In 1994, my partners and I purchased Kaskattama Safari Adventures, a remote, fly-in, American-Plan waterfowl hunting lodge located on the coast of Hudson Bay in northern Manitoba.
In 1996, we heard that Minor Bay Camps on famous Wollaston Lake was for sale. Wollaston Lake has always been known for its tremendous trophy northern pike fishery, as well as offering anglers opportunities to angle for lake trout, walleye and Arctic grayling.
After spending some time at Minor Bay, inspecting the facilities and sampling the fishery on Wollaston and on Minor Bay’s remote outpost and daily flyout lakes, we confirmed the world-class quality of the fishery and purchased the lodge.
Over the years we have made numerous upgrades to the facilities and the equipment. Our first upgrade was to connect Minor Bay Lodge to Saskatchewan’s power grid. This provided the lodge with clean, quiet, reliable energy.
In 2009, my wife, Bev, retired from her property management and real estate career and joined me at Minor Bay. We have both been on-site at the lodge since then. Over our years spent at the lodge, many guests have become friends, and each spring Bev and I look forward with anticipation to welcoming our guests to Minor Bay for another season; renewing old friendships as well as making new ones.
Looking for a Canadian fishing trip? Then look no further than Wollaston Lake’s Minor Bay Lodge. Minor Bay offers exceptional angling for trophy northern pike, walleye, lake trout and Arctic grayling.
Location
Minor Bay Lodge, a Canadian fly in fishing lodge, is located in a sheltered bay on famous Wollaston Lake. Wollaston is considered to be one of the finest Northern Pike fisheries in North America, and Minor Bay is located right in the heart of Wollaston’s Monster Pike habitat!
The mantra “location, location, location” has become synonymous with the real estate industry. It’s also essential for fishing lodges – and Minor Bay Lodge boasts the best location on Wollaston Lake to access Wollaston’s incredible fishery!
Our lodge is strategically situated in a sheltered bay in the southwest corner of Wollaston Lake – right in the heart of “Monster Pike Country”. Wollaston Lake’s south end is all about structure – marshy spawning bays, peninsulas, sand and rock bars, plus a huge number of weed beds. This is ideal habitat for northern pike to spawn, feed and grow to incredible size.

Minor Bay has a reputation as one of Canada’s top trophy pike fishing lodges. Minor Bay offers our guests some of the world’s best trophy pike fishing, while being pampered at a first-class lodge.
