Exceptional Fishing at Minor Bay Lodge!
Canada’s 13th largest lake, Wollaston Lake covers an area of 1,035 square miles with 883 square miles of water within its boundaries, once you subtract the islands. With a lake this size you’d assume long boat rides to be standard fare. However, in Minor Bay Lodge’s case – this would be incorrect.
Minor Bay Lodge is fortunate to be located right in the heart of southern Wollaston Lake, where shallow bays, rocky points and numerous weed beds provide ideal fish habitat – not only for trophy pike, but also for lake trout and walleye.
What does this mean to Minor Bay’s guests? The biggest benefit is NO LONG BOAT RIDES! This translates into more fishing time and less time boat riding as we enjoy some great pike fishing within ten to fifteen minutes from the lodge. As a matter of fact, trophy pike approaching 50 inches have been caught and released in a bay less than a two minute ride from the lodge. At Minor Bay Lodge guests aren’t forced to pay additional fees to fly out in order to avoid long, back-pounding, boat rides. With reasonably short boat rides from the lodge to prime fishing locations Minor Bay Lodge’s guests maximize their fishing opportunities whether they are looking to catch large numbers of fish or hunting for that trophy of a lifetime.
Because of the lodge’s prime location on Wollaston, guests at Minor Bay Lodge don’t have to gird themselves for one-hour-plus boat rides to the premier fishing spots on Wollaston. This is because many of Wollaston Lake’s best fishing spots are located “right in our own backyard.” Minor Bay’s location is also a real plus when the weather turns nasty as there are many sheltered bays, channels and points close to the lodge that are home to trophy pike throughout the season.
During June, Minor Bay Lodge has a DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver float plane based at the lodge. For guests looking for more adventure in their fishing vacation, or a change of pace from fishing Wollaston Lake, we have a number of pristine, remote lakes available for the exclusive use of Minor Bay’s guests. These lakes receive minimal fishing pressure and have produced some exceptional trophy pike, lake trout, walleye and Arctic grayling.
Another benefit to Minor Bay Lodge guests is limited fishing pressure. We have intentionally restricted our guest capacity to only 20 guests per trip at the main lodge. This ensures our guests will receive exceptional personalized service from our professional staff and guides. A limited number of guests also represents less fishing pressure and therefore better opportunities to catch and release good numbers of fish as well as trophy quality fish.
Minor Bay Lodge offers unsurpassed trophy pike fishing with the opportunity to also angle for lake trout, walleye and Arctic grayling. If you are looking for an exceptional trophy pike fishing adventure where friendly, personalized service combined with a relaxed atmosphere in a pristine wilderness environment, you need look no further than Minor Bay Lodge & Outposts on Wollaston Lake, Saskatchewan.
